This term my daughter has been assigned a project at school and her topic is facts and trivia relating to Wales.

My first impression was how boring, she could have had somewhere more interesting than Wales. To be fair though, she has uncovered a few interesting facts along the way.

I have already learnt that the name ‘Wales’ actually dates back from the Cymraeg word of Gwalia, which when translated literally means “Homeland”.

Wales is actually quite a small country and to the east is bordered by England with the remainder of the country being surrounded by water.  To the south is the Bristol Channel, with St. George’s Channel to the west and finally the Irish Sea to the north.

There have been many fine actors who have been born in Wales, including Sir Anthony Hopkins, the very fine Richard Burton and the beautiful Catherine Zeta Jones.

Of course Catherine has escaped Wales for the delights of the USA, but she often pops back and stays at Hotels in Wales.  She has also been known for her Self Catering Wales escapades when she visits her family.

Catherine however doesn’t just stay in Wales, she also enjoys her UK Family Holidays with her celebrity husband and her 2 children. It’s not uncommon for them to visit a local pub or two for a little lunch and join in with everybody else in the pub, doesn’t sound very showbiz to me.

I digress a bit and have come off the subject. This must be something that runs in our family as it would seem that my daughter has problems with this as well.

She has a very vivid imagination and unfortunately when writing essays, stories, etc she goes off at a tangent and loses the whole context of her story.

It was only last week that her English teacher had a meeting with her about her work.  It’s funny in my day a vivid imagination was something to praise, not be quashed.

My next instalment on the joys of Wales will follow as soon as my daughter decides to get on with the work she should be doing.  For now though she is happily writing a story about slaying dragons – probably due to the fact that she has just drawn a picture of the Welsh flag!!

Toronto is the provincial capital of Ontario, the second largest province in Canada, second to that of Quebec. Toronto is a very beautiful and unique city, with some amazing landmarks and because of these people across the planet know of it’s existence. This city is on the east coast of Canada in the province called Ontario.

Almost 2 and half million people live in this city, making it the most populated city in Canada, and the fifth largest in North America. Toronto has slowly become one of the largest financial centres in the world, and is the largest in Canada, aerospace and tourism have helped to put Toronto on the map. Toronto is home to some of the most amazing wonders in the world, and has its very own unique ones to share. The second tallest Freestanding structure is in Toronto, making it probably the biggest landmark in Toronto’s city walls.

There is a stadium called the Sports Stadia that was the first stadium across the globe to have the famous Retractable roof system. The Blue jays and the Argonauts are the two teams that occupy this stadium which is host to Baseball and Canadian Football. This stadium is world renowned.

Toronto has many attractions but probably the biggest isn’t even in the city, it lies about fifty miles away and it is Niagara Falls. Toronto is the closest city and it has been named as its biggest attraction. If you really want to see this magnificent wonder of the world, then travelling fifty miles out of your way to go and see it, won’t be a wasted journey.

History of Toronto can be captured in the Royal Ontario Museum, if you want to find out about the history of this place, then you need to pay this museum a visit. There are many different areas in this museum, providing something for everyone, one of the biggest areas is the zoology department, there is also an archaeology and mineralogy section. This makes it any history and geologists dream attraction.

Toronto holidays are well worth the money, and so are Vancouver holidays, which I will talk about in my next post, Canada holidays are the different American holiday, which will you visit?

A holiday with your children is almost always good fun, but why not make it educational too. Tourists have now started taking children on holiday to help educate them about the world. New cultures and completely different destinations are the best places for you to learn something completely new to yourself.

One holiday that can prove to be very effective is that which takes you into a completely different world. In comparison to a zoo, this sort of Safari holiday really puts things into perspective. The Maasai Mara is one of the most famous and well known national park reserves in Africa, and also provides people with some great safari experiences. Nature is wonderful, and being able to get within metres of some of the most amazing animals in the world is a fantastic experience.

If you get the chance to see some of the most amazing animals up and close (the Big Five) then your in for a treat. The Big Five were aptly named because they were once the hardest animals to hunt, and the largest. There is the Leopard, the Cape Buffalo, the Lion, Elephant and Rhino. Surely we all want our Grand Kids to see these gracious endangered animals, so why not educate them early. The next generation is that which is most important to the welfare of these animals, without them on side, these animals have no hope.

If we want to preserve life and keep things working, we need to try and realise what is happening to the planet. Safaris help us to get close to the natural world. Some people believe that the best way to learn is vocationally, so actually visiting these countries would have a grand impact.

The biggest thing that acts as a deterrent from these holidays is the price. One advantage at the moment is that the holidays in particular have become very competitive. Because of the recession, tour operators have had to match and go lower than each others prices.

Kenya holidays are proving to be very popular, then Namibia holidays and Tanzania holidays, all you have to do is decide which national reserve you would like to travel to?

Swine Flu is still strong!

The Swine flu epidemic is still raging throughout the world. All of us thought that Swine Flu was starting to fade out, and cases had started to drop. Swine Flu has stretched all over the world, and is still killing as it travels. It is now that people are only really starting to realise that Swine Flu is here to stay for a while to come, what they want to know is what symptoms are on their way?

It is very easy to determine whether or not you have Flu or Swine Flu, there are some big symptom differences. Swine Flu is described as a virus that you either definately know you have, or you haven’t got it. Flu makes its way through the body at a slower rate, it takes around two days for it to get to it’s worst. Swine Flu is one of those Viruses that takes action very quickly, and deals damage fast. The Symptoms that you get with Swine Flu are very much the same as those that you get from the Common Flu, such as Back aches and muscle ache, Nausea. The main difference is that all these symptoms are explained by those that have had it as “15 times worse” and “extremely difficult to move, even get out of bed”.

Now the most recent news story to come out of Swine Flu is back at the holiday industry. Over the school half term, around 40 children who were going on holidays with families to Egypt were quarantined under “suspicion” of having the virus. These people have described their experiences as harrowing, and the place they were taken to to be a “hell hole”. After their body heats were monitored as above normal in the airport at Sharm El Sheikh, they were rushed to a hospital with other Brit families. This has proved that the Swine Flu virus on’t be going away quietly, and now with Premiership football players being diagnosed with the virus, it shows it’s still spreading.

Egypt holidays have taken a bit of a beating recently; Caribbean holidays including St Lucia holidays have been very promising through the Swine Flu period.

This thing you need to think about carefully, many people get this wrong. Booking holidays in January are actually the best time of year to do so as well, even if about 5 months early. Now i am saying that people go on holiday at the summer time, but they don’t book there holidays in summer time. Now this isn’t true.

Summer may be the time that most of us embark on holidays, but it certainly isn’t the most popular for bookings. Holiday bookings appear to increase in summer but only for a very short period of time, and then rise again for the same amount of time at Christmas. It all comes down to what your weather is like and if you managed to get some time off in a short amount of time, then your more likely to book a late holiday deal. So many people book in the first two months, that it shows a clear trend every single year.

Christmas finishes, and January begins, then holiday searches and bookings go through the roof. This makes a lot of sense, it gives you time to plan your holiday after you have booked it. If you need some to arrange things, then an early booking can help you to sort out time off. Many people will find that making an earlier booking will be able to make changes to their holiday if they need to. If you want to book yourself a holiday for summer time, and you want to make sure you get a seat, you book early.

Tour Operators rely on a big profit in this month, to help with the rest of the year, this quite quickly demonstrates how the year will pan out. If they have a poor start in January and February, then the rest of the year is going to be very hard. The only times when they capitalise after a bad start is in the summer, for late holiday deals, or at Christmas time, for the best possible Christmas holidays.

Holidays Can Be Dangerous!

Dinosaurs were wiped off of the planet by a comet, but evolution has shown us that there are still creatures and mammals that replicate their DNA structure.

The species in question can crush a mammal or human in seconds if they get hold of them. They are very cold blooded species who sneak up and grab there target when they are close enough. The most dangerous aspect of any crocodile is the way it can snap up and bite you without you even knowing.

Crocodile cause deaths are on the increase, more though in Australia, but recently news has occured that a five year olds body has been found in a crocodile. The child in question was someone called Jeremy Doble was last seeing playing with his brother in his home.

Police have stated that the crocodile was stuck up in the swamp and them attacked the child. His older sibling Ryan shortly after the incident saw the crocodile and informed the authorities.

But the boy’s parents have remained adamant that the crocodile should not be killed, it should instead be taken to a farm or zoo where it can be put on display. This shows us that dinosaurs may be extinct but there are still species around that replicate them to the fullest. The world used to be full of cold blooded killers millions of years ago and slowly slowly evolution is pushing these sort of animals to extinction so the world can become a better place. So if you are thinking of going on Australia tours or any Kenya or Australian holidays then be very careful of not getting to close to the deadly animals. Always make sure you with a professional when about in the wild or else you will only blame yourselves if something does happen!

Swine Flu is still as strong as it ever was. Many of us fell under the false impression that Swine Flu was on its way out.

First of all, those that have Swine Flu will know about it almost straight away. Flu travels through the Human body at a slower rate, and doesn’t get to its worse state for a couple of days. Swine Flu is one of those Viruses that takes action very quickly, and deals damage fast. The Main symptoms are similar to those that you experience when you get the Flu, like; Nausea, Headaches, Runny Nose, Aches and Pains, all over the body. The main difference is that all these symptoms are explained by those that have had it as “15 times worse” and “extremely difficult to move, even get out of bed”.

Tourism is once again being dealt a blow due to the Swine Flu Virus. School half term has just passed, and so have the holiday rushes that come with it, but it was not quite so pleasant for some travelling to Egypt, suspected of having Swine Flu. The place these people were taken to has been slammed, the conditions were horrible. A sensor in the Airport they arrived at alerted guards to the children’s unusually high body temperatures, and they were whisked off to a hospital. Swine Flu won’t be vacating the premises or leaving the building at any time soon, it will be a virus that hangs around and will either fade quickly at some point, or hang around for years.

Egypt holidays have taken a bit of a bashing recently; Caribbean holidays including St Lucia holidays have been very successful through the Swine Flu age.

This thing you need to think about carefully, many people get this wrong. However if you do think about it, although it sounds like a strange time it does in fact make a lot of sense. Many people believe that it is the summer time when travel agents get their bookings in thew highest volume. This is not the truth.

We may go on holiday at summer time, but we like to book our holidays well in advance. It is clear from looking at searches online and bookings, that about mid summer sees a spike in bookings. It all comes down to what your weather is like and if you managed to get some time off in a short amount of time, then your more likely to book a late holiday deal. Although we all like to book in the first two months, as trends suggest, there is also always a spike in interest in summer for a small amount of time.

The Most popular month to go and book a holiday straight after Christmas, that’s in January. However when we really think about this, it does make more sense. If you need some to arrange things, then an early booking can help you to sort out time off. Many people will find that making an earlier booking will be able to make changes to their holiday if they need to. Waiting to long to book your dream holiday is a bad thing to do, you could miss the seats, so booking early gets you what you want.

This is the time when Tour Operators make there most, and gives us and them a general outline of how well they are going to do in the year. The Beginning of the year is the most important part for Tour Operators, this greatly influences the rest of the year. The only times when they capitalise after a bad start is in the summer, for late holiday deals, or at Christmas time, for the best possible Christmas holidays.

For The Best Egypt holidays or Maldives holidays and a Stunning Vacation experience!

So does it look as though Christmas holidays are dropping in bookings? These Christmas holidays are no longer as easy to book near Christmas as they have been in past years. Christmas time for the holiday’s district, sales reach a peak in September and October, then fall dramatically in November.

Now why is it that these holiday bookings have dropped so much in recent weeks? If you want to try and get the Christmas holiday that you want, you should try and book in advance. Just a few months before Christmas is just enough time to book a nice holiday for yourself or the family. Christmas is stressful, and booking around this time is even worse, trying to arrange a holiday during the hardest time of the year, is quite challenging. Having to pile on the stress of booking a holiday just before Christmas can be annoying even for the most organised of people.

If you do want to get these holidays, then the best way to achieve a booking and get a good price, is to look for them around September. These holidays are very difficult to find, and especially if you are looking to go to more exotic locations. Cuba holidays or Egypt holidays are very difficult to arrange towards Christmas time. We all know that it isn’t easy to get the holiday you want around Christmas, because people book these holidays fast and early.

Barbados and St Lucia have also been popular this year, people have been trying to book holidays to these places in September, only to find they are all booked up. There are only a few select places around where you can still find holidays to Exotic and luxury locations still available. Many tour operators have had to cancel holidays that they have been offering, because they are already sold out.

Hopefully you have your Christmas holidays already booked, otherwise it could be very difficult to get one now, especially seeing as we are getting so close to the recession, and not to mention the deals were so good.

So are you looking where the best places for Christmas holidays are this year? Time is running out and you don’t have time to research locations. SO here are the top 3 places in the world that you could go to for your Christmas holiday this year:

Barbados. Discovery Bay by Rex Resorts is one amazing place for you to take your Christmas holidays. This is a luxury resort, but the holidays usually retail at quite a modest price, most of the time under one thousand pounds for a week. The beaches are very clear and the accommodation is very nice. Barbados is home to Bridgetown, a recommended place for all tourists to visit when they are in Barbados. Barbados is considered the party island of the Caribbean.

The Island that is St Lucia. This hotel offers some great accommodation, the Le Sport is known world wide for great service and treatments. All the rooms have air conditioning, great ocean views and twenty four hours a day service. So for the laziest holiday of your life, not to mention the most relaxing one. If your a golfing person then this a great holiday location for you, although saying that, there are other activities as well from, fencing to archery. All of these activities come with training as well. If you have a little more money to burn, you can head down to the Capital of St Lucia, Castries, to get some much wanted shopping done This is close to St Lucia.

The Maldives. This is one of the most expensive hotels around, and the most expensive on our list, the Lily Beach Resort and Spa. This hotel is considered by many to be a 6 star hotel, and looking at the accommodation you won’t be surprised. If you want somewhere to stay where you can get away from people and spend a week or two in the middle of nowhere, then this is as close to heaven that you are going to get. This particular Maldives island is quite small but has a small tropical rain forest at its centre, the Hotel is actually situated above the sea itself. Probably one of the most beautiful hotels in the world.

Maldives holidays, Dubai holidays and Sri Lanka holidays are well on the rise and this is thanks to the holidays on offer.
